What makes Pipeline unlike any other wave?

I think there's no other reef break wave as powerful and perfect as pipeline that breaks so close to the shore. You can even feel the power of the wave from the sand when you're watching. It's a different energy.

What would a Vans Pipe Masters title mean to you?

That would be the one of the most important titles of my career, for sure. The only other title that would have the same importance to me would be a world champion title. A Vans Pipe Masters title is career defining.

Is there an advantage to being a goofy or regular footer at Pipeline?

Maybe being goofy is more comfortable at Pipe, but at the same time maybe not as comfortable for Backdoor. But I believe more good scores come from backside barrels at pipe, comparing to frontside. And if you go to Backdoor I think being regular definitely has an advantage as you usually have to doggy-door.

We want you to remix an old classic. What turn do you best think suits the wave?

I think getting a big barrel for Pipe coming out into a big straight air tweaking a little bit would would be pretty sick. I also remember Andy getting barreled and then straight into a big floater to the flats and pointing out to the judges.

If you had Pipeline with 3 others, who would you prefer? (family not included).
